Brownouts could plague Metro, nearby provinces for 2-3 days

Brownouts in Metro Manila and nearby provinces could last two to three days if the supply of electricity from the National Power Corp. does not return to normal, the Manila Electric Co. said Wednesday. A GMA News flash reported noted that the Napocor started manual load-dropping on Wednesday morning due to the lack of sufficient power generation, particularly that sourced from hydroelectric power plants. The Napocor noted the low level of rainfall caught by dams that power hydroelectric power plants. These dams include Angat, Magat, Pantabangan, San Roque, and Binga. Meralco has cut off power supply to some randomly selected residential areas. Meralco appealed to consumers to be patient in case of power outages. -GMANews.TV
