SunStar: 36,000 schools tapped for cyber education
Some 36,000 schools in the Cordillera and other parts of the country expect to benefit from the Education Departmentâs cyber-education program. Sun-Star Baguio (www.sunstar.com.ph) reported Monday that the Cyber Education is a project by the Department of Education (DepEd) to bring quality education to remote areas. Education Secretary Jesli Lapus said the agency is tapping 36,000 public schools throughout the country for the Cyber Education program. âThese live classes will be beamed via satellite, even to the most far-flung schools that require these teachersâ expertise the most. And it will enable you to gain access to a rich menu of resource materials, which are currently unavailable in most public schools," Lapus said at the North Luzon Leg of the Go Negosyo caravan, where he was the guest of honor and speaker. He said the program is DepEdâs answer to the challenge of bringing efforts to provide quality education in every classroom in every school. âWe have a lot of very good and effective programs currently being done to further the quality of education in our country. The challenge that still needs to be hurdled is to bring all our efforts to scale, so that it can reverberate in each and every classroom, in each and every school," he said. Lapus said the Cyber Education program will connect schools to the best teachers in the country through âlive" sessions during classes. Students would learn lessons in virtual classroom studios with interactive classroom experience. - GMANews.TV
