3 kids saved, 2 remain under collapsed wall

(Updated 8:35 a.m.) Three out of five children trapped when a wall collapsed on their house in a subdivision in Mambugan village, Antipolo have been rescued, a television report said Wednesday. Those rescued were identified as Angelo, a special child, his brother Adrian and sister Arlene. Jose Arorong said his five children failed to get out of the house in time after they felt the wall rumble and collapse on their house before dawn in Brentwood Subdivision in Mambugan village. "Okay sila pero nahihirapan sila sa loob. Nakalusot kami pero sila ang naipit (They are okay but they are having a hard time. We tried to escape but they failed to get out of the house in time)," Arorong said in an interview on dzBB radio. As of 6 a.m., one of the children was rescued and brought to a nearby hospital, but was not immediately identified. Initial reports indicated the child, a male, had a bruise in the forehead. The five who were initially trapped in the house were Arlene, Ameriza, Armida, Ian and Angelo Arorong. The elder Arorong said they moved into the area in 2001. Residents said the wall that collapsed was 12 to 15 high and 200 meters long. - GMANews.TV
