9-year-old old boy killed in Baguio City landslide

A nine-year-old boy was killed in a landslide that hit Baguio City early Wednesday morning, radio station dzBB reported. Doctor Anthony Golez, spokesman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), cited initial reports which showed that the boy was pulled out of the soil and mud, but was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. The boy was identified as Roñel Renon Ramos. The landslide occurred after the slopes along a hill in Sto. Niño village collapsed, destroying the house of the victim's family. On Monday, a landslide also hit a mining site in Compostela Valley killing 10 people and injuring five others. A number of the victims were children. - GMANews.TV
