Bystander shot, seriously wounded in Sta. Ana gang war

A 26-year-old bystander is now fighting for his life after being shot, as not even the heavy rains in the city prevented a gang war from erupting in Manila's Sta. Ana district. Radio dzBB reported Thursday that Ryan Marvin Casaclan, 26, was rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila after getting caught in the middle of the gang war in Sta. Ana before dawn Thursday. Casaclan is now in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound in the chest, after being mistakenly tagged as a member of a rival gang. Police said Casaclan was having a drinking spree with some friends when a rumble erupted nearby. Without warning, a member of the fighting gangs tagged him as a member of a rival gang. He tried to run from the scene but the gang members chased him, and shot him. The gang members fled the scene after a responding team from the Manila Police District's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit arrived at the scene. - GMANews.TV
