8-yr-old boy killed, 3 UST students hurt by live wire

An eight-year-old boy was killed while three students were reported in critical condition after touching live wire in two separate incidents in Manila, radio station dzMM reported. Supt. Ernesto Barlam, police chief of Manila's Sampaloc police station, identified the first victim as Raymart Blanco, a Grade 2 pupil of 2016 Simon street, Sampaloc. Initial reports showed that the boy was strolling along Dimasalang Street when a truck passed. The passing truck caused floodwaters on the street to rise and Blanco touched an electric post which apparently had a live wire. He was declared dead on arrival at the nearby Infant Jesus Hospital. A second incident, involving three teenagers, took place along Dapitan street. The victims are students of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) along España street. The students were identified as Angelo Inolino, 17, Franz De Jesus, 15, and Edson Yambot, 17. While on their way to have lunch, the victims accidentally touched an electric post with a live wire, sending electric shocks all over their bodies. They were all rushed to the UST Hospital where they remain under critical condition. - GMANews.TV
