Plunderwatch: People's wrath focused on Gloria, no longer on Erap

A convenor of an alliance of civil society and militant groups that worked for the ouster of former President Joseph Estrada on Wednesday said the people's wrath is no longer focussed on the deposed chief executive but on President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Activist priest Joe Dizon told GMA News that the Plunderwatch alliance has lost interest on Estrada's P4.1-billion plunder case since 2003 because Mrs Arroyo "politically dribbled the trial to her advantage." "The Sandigabayan verdict will not close the whole thing. The nation will still be divided," he said. Dizon said the people forgave Estrada when the leader was judged in the January 2001 popular uprising on EDSA. He said this was proven when Estrada's wife, Luisa Ejercito and son, Jinggoy won as senators. "History has already judged Erap...Ang perception ng tao ngayon mas mabaho at corrupt ang Arroyo administration, kaya ang galit ng tao nakasentro kay Gloria," he said. - GMANews.TV
