Campbell hit with hard object, PNP dentist testifies

US Peace Corps volunteer Julia Campbell was hit with a hard object that likely led to her death in Ifugao earlier this year, a police forensic dentist testified Monday.

QTV's Balitanghali reported that Philippine National Police Criminal Laboratory forensic dentist Jose Herrera noted the cracks on three teeth of Campbell indicated the impact of the object.

In his testimony before Ifugao Branch 34 Judge Ester Piscoso-Flor, Herrera earlier confirmed that the body recovered last April belonged to Campbell.

He said the body's dental features were an "exact match" with the dental records of Campbell.

On the other hand, suspect Juan Duntugan and his mother were present at the hearing.

Duntugan's mother said she remains hopeful the charges against her son will be downgraded from murder to homicide. - GMANews.TV
