Cafgu man killed in Aurora shooting - report

A member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) was killed after suspected communist rebels opened fire at their their detachment in Baler, Aurora. Radio dzRH reported Tuesday that the early Monday attack killed a Cafgu member initially identified as a certain J.R. Lugite, who succumbed to gunshot wounds from high-caliber weapons. Initial reports showed at least five alleged snipers of the New People's Army (NPA) took up positions near the detachment of the Army's 69th Infantry Battalion and fired at the military personnel inside. By the time the soldiers inside the detachment managed to get their firearms to fight back, the gunmen managed to escape towards the Sierra Madre mountain range. - GMANews.TV
