PNP back to zero in evidence gathering at Glorietta blast site

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is back to zero in its investigation on the type of explosives used in Friday’s Glorietta blast in Makati City that killed nine people and injured over a hundred others. Philippine National Police chief Gen. Avelino Razon Jr on Saturday said swabs taken from the blast site tested negative for chemical explosives. “The swab samples tested negative, so our post-blast investigators will go back to the site to gather more pieces of evidence." Post-blast investigators from Camp Crame, aided by Scene of the Crime operatives, swabbed the concrete materials and debris, including metals near the center of the explosion for chemical analysis at the Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame to determine the type of bomb used in the incident. Chief Inspector Reynold Rosero of the Philippine Bomb Data Center said their team would go back to the blast site to look for more pieces of evidence. “We still have plenty of things to look for like the switch (of the explosive)." Police had already dismissed reports that the blast originated from a liquefied petroleum gas tank at a noodle house in Glorietta 2. Razon also denied that authorities have already ascertained that C4 explosives caused the blast. - GMANews.TV
