FIFA: Brazil appropriate choice to host 2014 World Cup

ZURICH, Switzerland – FIFA inspectors recommended Brazil's bid to host the 2014 World Cup on Thursday.
"Brazil is an appropriate choice to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup," the Inspection Report for the tournament said. "Brazil has shown the potential and demonstrated itself to be more than capable of hosting an exceptional FIFA World Cup."
The report, published Thursday, has been sent to the FIFA executive committee, which will announce its decision on Tuesday.
Brazil is the only candidate to host the 2014 competition, an event it has won a record five times but hosted only once – in 1950, when it lost to Uruguay in the last match of the tournament before a Maracana crowd estimated at about 200,000. - AP
