Foreign experts rule out bomb in Glorietta blast - Razon

(Updated 3:19 p.m.) National Police chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr on Tuesday said foreign explosives experts who conducted their own investigation into the October 19 blast at Glorietta 2 in Makati City have ruled out any bomb angle behind the incident. Interviewed on the sidelines of an antiterrorism drill at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, Razon said President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had been briefed on the reports submitted by the explosives experts from Australia, Israel and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). "Based on the evidence and the facts that were gathered from the scene…evidence shows that it (blast) was an accidental gas explosion," Razon told reporters. "They (foreign experts) have submitted a report to that effect," he added in referring to the no-bomb angle on the tragic incident that resulted to the death of 11 people and the wounding of over a hundred others. Razon said President Arroyo had been already briefed on the latest development in a meeting in Malacañang. The PNP chief said that at present, Chief Superintendet Luizo Ticman is collating all the reports which he expects to receive "in a few days." Asked if Ayala Land then is liable for the incident, Razon replied: "That is another matter that we have to look into based on the conclusion of the investigators." - GMANews.TV
