Guide to holiday traffic, chokepoints at NLEX, SLEX


You wouldn’t necessarily enjoy your time during holidays especially when you’re caught in a traffic jam. Avoid this headache during and after All Saints' Day and All Souls’ Day by taking these advisories from the Philippine National Construction Corporation: At the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), traffic volume is expected to increase by at least 25 percent during holidays. Avoid the road squeeze at the southbound chokepoints along the Alabang Viaduct, as you exit Metro Manila on October 30 (Tuesday) and 31 (Wednesday). From November 3 (Saturday) to 5 (Monday), as motorists enter Metro Manila, they are expected to encounter chokepoints again in the Alabang Viaduct and at the Alabang-Calamba path due to road widening and improvement activities. For any road trouble, call these SLEX hotlines: 838-8714 and 631-5058 At the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), traffic volume is expected to rise by 26 percent from October 26 (Friday) to 31 (Wednesday). Northbound chokepoints upon exiting Metro Manila from October 26 to 31 will be at the Balintawak Toll Plaza and at the Dau, Sta. Rita and San Fernando exits. Meanwhile, southbound chokepoints upon entering Metro Manila from November 3 (Saturday) to 5 (Monday) will be at the Bocaue Toll Plaza.
