Estrada 'very happy' to have visited FPJ tomb

Pardoned former President Joseph Estrada said Wednesday night he was "very happy" to have the opportunity to pay his respects to his late bosom buddy Fernando Poe Jr. Radio dzBB reported that Estrada, who met with members of Poe's family for more than 20 minutes under tight security at the North Cemetery in Manila, told a GMA-7 television crew it was the first time for him to visit the tomb of Poe, whom he considers a "brother." He also told the television news crew he still believes Poe would have been the best president the country ever had. Security personnel kept media from getting inside the Poe family's mausoleum where Estrada talked with Poe's relatives. The dzBB report said Estrada did not have family members with him. With him were his security personnel, and a representative from the office of Manila mayor Alfredo Lim. After meeting with Poe's relatives, Estrada went out of the mausoleum and shook hands with some of his supporters who had been waiting for him at the North Cemetery for hours. His supporters continued to chant his name. "Words cannot express the thanks I have for my supporters who had stood by me and prayed for me. I will never forget them," he said. - GMANews.TV
