Panlilio attends Senate probe on cash gifts mess

Pampanga Governor Ed Panlilio arrived at the Senate Wednesday morning to testify on the distribution of "cash gifts" to congressmen and local government officials who attended separate meetings in Malacañang in October. Panlilio was the lone star witness after Bulacan Gov. Joselito "Jonjon" Mendoza begged off, saying he needed to attend to his province’s Education summit also scheduled Wednesday. The Senate said it will press on with the opening of its investigation into the "cash gift" controversy amid the explosion that rocked the House of Representatives Tuesday evening.
