As “Mina" approached Northern Luzon, several residents of Isabela province hoarded basic goods and other supplies to prepare for the typhoon's onslaught, radio dzRH reported Sunday.
The report said some Isabela residents scrambled for food, candles, flashlights, and batteries from stores and shopping centers.
State weather forecasters earlier said “Mina" was to make landfall in the vicinity of Aurora and Isabela provinces late Sunday or Monday.
For its part, the Army’s 5th Infantry Division set up Task Force Mina to prepare for the typhoon’s onslaught in Isabela.
Meanwhile, in Aurora province, rains started falling at 4 a.m. Radio dzRH reported the rains were particularly heavy in Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinulungan, and Dingalan towns.
