Arroyo takes chopper back to Palace; security up

(Updated 12:21 p.m.) Security has been tightened in Malacañang following a walkout and march by Brigadier Gen. Danilo Lim and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV in Makati City. Radio dzBB reported that the Presidential Security Group tightened security at the Malacañang grounds, but PSG head Brig. Gen. Romeo Prestoza would not answer questions. The radio report said an emergency meeting was called in Malacañang in the wake of the incident, with National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales in attendance. Gonzales was quoted as saying that authorities were studying if Lim and Trillanes should be arrested. Shortly past 12 noon, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo left for Malacañang via helicopter from the vicinity of the Col. Lauro D. Dizon Memorial National High School in San Pablo City in Laguna. GMA News Flash Report said Mrs Arroyo and her aides have not issued a statement about the ouster call of Lim and Trillanes. She had just come from a local peace and security assembly at the Villa Escudero in nearby Tiaong, Quezon. QTV Balitanghali said the Don Chino Roces bridge has been closed to all vehicles, while the Palace's Arlegui was placed under tight guard. - GMANews.TV
