Magdalo fugitives


2/LT. JUNNIEBERT TUBO September 21, 2004: Marine 2/Lt. Junniebert Tubo managed to escape from his escorts while he was being transferred from a minimum security to a maximum security cell inside Fort Bonifacio. Assisted by GMA News, he surrendered to military officials at Camp Aguinaldo on September 23, 2004. He said he escaped to attend to a family problem. CAPT. NICANOR FAELDON December 14, 2005: Marine Capt. Nicanor Faeldon escaped from the Makati Regional Trial Court where he was attending a hearing on the Oakwood Mutiny case. The website www.pilipino.org.ph posted photos of Faeldon posing in front of the AFP Western Command Headquarters in Puerto Princesa, Palawan; the Southern Command Headquarters in Zamboanga; and the Philippine National Police Headquarters in Camp Crame (photos and a videoclip). The site claimed that the pictures were taken after Faeldon's escape, but both the AFP and the PNP had said that these might have been old photos or pictures manipulated through computer photo programs. January 27, 2006:Faeldon was arrested in Malabon. He was with Capt. Candelaria "Candy" Rivas, a military lawyer who is part of the Judge Advocate General's Office team prosecuting the court martial of the Magdalo mutineers. CAPT. NATHANIEL RABONZA, 1/LT. SONNY SARMIENTO, 1/LT. PATRICIO BUMIDANG, JR., 1/LT. LAWRENCE SAN JUAN, 2ND LT. ALDRIN BALDONADO, LT. ANGELBERT GAY January 17, 2006: Capt. Rabonza and first lieutenants Sarmiento, Bumidang and San Juan escaped military custody at Fort Bonifacio. January 18, 2006: 2Lt Aldrin Baldonado, who was among those implicated in the Oakwood mutiny, escaped from the Custodial Management Unit (CMU) building around 9 p.m., hours after he was placed under arrest, and a day after four Magdalo officers escaped. "Ako po ay ikinulong at tumakas sa CMU noon Miyerkules ng gabi…sa gitna ng pinahigpit na seguridad sa kampo dahil sa pagkatakas ng apat na Magdalo soldiers noon Martes ng gabi," he said in the two-page letter to Atty. Roel Pulido. But the AFP said he is not detained but was only placed under the custody of his Major Service Commander. "The AFP clarifies that 2Lt Baldonado has gone AWOL from Jan 5 - 15 and is being investigated because of it," a statement posted on the AFP website said. January 25, 2006 - The Philippine Army PIO said that another Lt. Angelbert Gay, another soldier implicated in the Oakwood mutiny, had been AWOL since January 16. February 21, 2006: 1Lt San Juan was captured by PNP personnel in Barangay San Felipe in Padre Garcia, Batangas. July 7, 2006: Government forces arrested six soldiers and a lawyer around 5:30 a.m. at Filinvest 2 Subdivision in Quezon City. Arrested were:

July 14, 2006: The AFP presented San Juan to the media. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the Chain of Command and the leadership of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo: "I, First Lieutenant Lawrence R. San Juan, am breaking away from the Magdalo and the Makabayang Kawal Pilipino (MKP) and am reaffirming my allegiance to the Armed Forces."
