Palace appeals to media, public: Stay away from Makati

Malacañang has appealed to the public and the media on Thursday not to meddle with the ongoing turmoil at the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City to avoid "collateral damage." In an emergency announcement before 5 p.m., Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye sent this message to the media:"Nakikiusap po tayo. Stay behind the yellow lane of the police." He also advised the public to stay away from Makati. "Iwasan na lumapit sa lugar, lalo na kung kumagat ang dilim." Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo echoed Bunye's appeal to the public.
