Tear gas fired into hotel lobby as gov't troops advance

Government troops have started firing tear gas into the Manila Peninsula Hotel lobby, a GMA systems engineer trapped inside the hotel said as of 4:45 p.m. Thursday. In an interview on GMA, Allan Gutierrez - who were finding a way out of the hotel while being interviewed - reported feeling pain in their eyes and face even as they have covered their faces with wet handkerchiefs. Minutes earlier, National Capital Region Command chief Maj. Gen. Ben Dolorfino said government troops have already occupied positions at the first floor of the Manila Peninsula Hotel where Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and Brig. Gen.
