Successive gunshots heard at hotel as troops advance

Successive gunshots were heard at the Manila Peninsula Hotel around 4:59 p.m., shortly after government troops fired tear gas into the hotel lobby as government troops continue their advance. GMA reporter Tina Panganiban-Perez, who was outside the hotel, said it was unclear if the shots were fired by government troops or Magdalo soldiers defending Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim. Perez noted that the shots were successive, as opposed to the sporadic shots earlier heard when government troops started their assault.
