P1-M reward up for Faeldon's recapture

The government has offered a P1-million reward to anyone who could lead to the re-arrest of fugitive Marine Capt. Nicanor Faeldon who escaped Thursday before authorities quelled the takeover of the Magdalo Group and its supporters of the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City. National Police chief Avelino Razon, Jr said in a statement Saturday that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has approved the PNP recommendation for the offer of the bounty. "We expect that the reward offer will encourage people in the community to provide us with information that will lead to the early arrest of persons involved," Razon said. Razon said the PNP has already been in constant coordination with military authorities in efforts to account for Faeldon, a core leader of the Magdalo Group, and the rest of the missing participants to the November 29 incident. Faeldon already gave his military security details a slip in December 2005 while attending a court hearing for his coup d' etat case at the Makati City Regional Trial Court. He was rearrested in late January of the following year in Malabon. On Friday night, the PNP slapped Faeldon with a rebellion case before the Department of Justice, along with Senator Antonio Trillanes, IV, former Vice President Teofisto Guingona, Jr., Brig. Danilo Lim, Bishop Julio Labayen, and 46 others. - GMANews.TV
