Int'l mag lists Newsbreak editor among 15 ethical leaders of 2007


London-based magazine Ethical Corporation listed Newsbreak business editor Lala Rimando among the 15 "best of the best" leaders who made a difference in 2007. Rimando's citations reads: "Having gained a masters degree in corporate social responsibility and years of investigative journalism experience in the most dangerous country in the world outside Iraq, Rimando trains Filipino journalists on corporate social responsibility. She also investigates companies and their chief executives. Her magazine publishes groundbreaking stories on both sides of the corporate ethics debate." Rimando is the only Asian in the list that includes former US President Bill Clinton, who was cited for organizing the Clinton Global Initiatitve that pushed companies and governments to think of innovative solutions for tackling climate change. Financial Times environment correspondent Fiona Harvey is the other journalist in the list. Ethical Corporation is a print and online magazine that promotes "responsible business." The list also includes Australian senator and climate change minister Penny Wong, Marks & Spencer retailer Stuart Rose, Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott, Unilever CEO Patrick Cescau, and Areva chairman Anne Lauvergeon.
