2 hurt as Huey chopper crashes in Tanay

Two people were hurt when a Philippine Air Force (PAF) Huey helicopter on a re-supply mission crashed somewhere in Tanay town in Rizal province Friday. Air Force chief Lt. Gen. Horacio Tolentino said the air accident occurred about 2 p.m. shortly after the Huey helicopter took off from Villamor Airbase for its mission in Tanay, about 50 kilometers east of Manila. Two crewmen suffered back and leg injuries, Tolentino said. But the helicopter's pilot, Capt. Pinky Moises and her co-pilot, one Lt. Pascua, along with another Army soldier, were unhurt, Tolentino said. The PAF commander said all 43 Huey helicopters in the PAF inventory have been grounded pending completion of the investigation on the said incident. The PAF uses the UH-1H for various operations: counterinsurgency, transport, as well as search and rescue operations during disasters. - GMANews.TV
