Manila cop in hot water for ‘stealing kiss’ from detainee’s wife

You must remember this, a kiss is just a kiss…but stealing one could be troublesome. That’s the bitter lesson learned Wednesday by a Manila policeman after allegedly locking lips with a Sampaloc resident who showed up at the district’s police station to seek the release of her husband who had been booked for drinking in public. Catherine Anne Buco, 22, a kagawad (councilwoman) of Barangay 505 Zone 50 District 4, Sampaloc, Manila, and resident of 1006 San Diego Street in the same district went to the Manila Police District-General Assignment Section (GAS) Wednesday to file a complaint against Police Officer 2 Luis Gonzales. PO3 Knowme Sia of the MPD-GAS said that according to Buco’s complaint, the incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. inside the MPD-Station 4 on G. Tuazon Street. The complainant said her husband was arrested by policemen at 3:30 a.m. and was brought to MPD-Station 4 for booking. The woman visited her husband at the police station so she could work for his immediate release from custody. At the station, she met Gonzales, one of the arresting officers. Gonzales told the woman to follow him at the veranda, where they would discuss her husband’s case, police said. Gonzales told the woman that her husband would be brought shortly for inquest at the Manila Prosecutor’s Office, but there’s one option she can do to change the officer’s mind. When she asked what that option was, Gonzales allegedly whispered "I love you," then lowered his head toward the woman and planted a smacker on her lips. The woman complained to Gonzales’s superior about the officer's behavior but she was told to just forgive the officer so her husband could be freed soon. Gonzales was unavailable for a comment.- GMANews.TV
