Negros Navigation Co., Inc. on Sunday reminded province-bound passengers that firecrackers and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks would not be allowed onto seagoing vessels.

Gian Galvez, spokesman of the shipping company, said that authorities would confiscate LPG tanks and fireworks from ship passengers carrying the said items.

Maraming pasahero ang nagdadala ng paputok. Kahit lucis ipagbabawal ‘yan…ating kukumpiskahin (Many passengers are bringing firecrackers. Even the seemingly harmless lucis will be disallowed and confiscated)," Galvez said in an interview on dzXL radio.

Galvez likewise appealed to passengers to be at the piers three hours before boarding time. He said passengers would have to undergo strict security measures, including a manual inspection of check-in luggage, an x-ray inspection, and a K-9 inspection. - GMANews.TV
