15 minors rescued from KTV bar in Quezon

At least 15 minors allegedly forced to work as strippers and guest relations officers were rescued from a videoke bar in Quezon province, dzRH radio reported Tuesday. Police had arrested the bar owner, identified as Edward Siba a.k.a. Al Capone, and are currently preparing child abuse and human trafficking charges against him. Calabarzon police regional director Chief Supt. Ricardo Padilla said Siba had been arrested on a similar charge before but was released after posting bail. Padilla said most of the rescued minors were recruited from Davao and Cebu cities. "We hope prosecutors and courts will not grant him bail," he said. Investigation showed the girls were offered jobs as waitresses in Lucena City but were made to work in the videoke bar as GROs, dancers and strippers. - GMANews.TV
