Carpenter, ex-detainee latest victims of killings – Karapatan

The non-government human rights group Karapatan on Tuesday said that a carpenter from Masbate and a former political detainee from Bohol were this year's latest victims of extrajudicial killings. Tildo Rebamonte, a 45-year-old carpenter from Claveria town in Masbate province was gunned down on January 16, four days after he was allegedly abducted by the Philippine National Police’s Regional Mobile Group. The second fatality, ex-political prisoner Ronald Sendrijas, was shot dead in Tagbilaran City in Bohol province, on January 17, the victim’s 35th birthday. Karapatan said Sendrijas was released from prison in August 2006 after being charged with rebellion and criminal cases. - GMANews.TV
