Prospero C. Nograles, Jr.

Prospero C. Nograles, Jr. Prospero C. Nograles, Davao City Representative, was elected house speaker on Tuesday. He replaced Rep. Jose de Venecia of Pangasinan. ISSUES
  • New House speaker. Nograles is the beneficiary of Kampi-initiated move to oust Jose De Venecia from the Speakership. In an earlier attempt to unseat de Venecia in 2005, Nograles' friend, Rep. Prospero Pichay, Jr., was reported to be the challenger for the speakership. In an article published on his official website, Nograles made it clear that Pichay and De Venecia are "two of my best friends," and that he would never "do a Brutus" on De Venecia.
