Lozada admits 'sin' vs wife

MANILA, Philippines - Senate whistleblower Rodolfo "Jun" Lozada on Thursday night admitted that he had sinned against his wife. The admission came amid text messages which questioned his fidelity. "Mayroon ho akong isang pungungumpisal na gagawin sa inyo ngayon dahil ito po ay isang sakripisyo na naman na kailangan kong gawin para sa inyo,"Lozada said during the mass. "Aaminin ko po sa inyo na nagkasala ako sa asawa ko. Sana po mapatawad niyo ako. Mapatatawad niyo po ba ninyo ako dahil ako'y nagkasala sa asawa ko," Lozada said. "Dahil po sa ako'y gustong maglingkod ng totoo sa inyo, sasabihin ko po sa inyo ang katotohanan. Pati po iyang ginagamit nila sa akin mapapatawad po ba ninyo ako na ako'y nagkasala sa asawa ko," continued Lozada. The quotes were contained in a GMA News report which also said the people who attended a mass for truth at Manila's Tondo district heard Lozada's revelation. The people, in return, applauded the Senate whistleblower for his honesty. Lozada ended his speech by reiterating his appeal to the public to ferret out the truth. "Sana po ang hamon ko naman sa inyo, hingin niyo rin ang katotohanan sa kanila tungkol sa mga transaksyong ito sa gobyerno," he added. Lozada, who became a lector at the mass, delivered his speech after Manila Auxillary Bishop Broderick Pabillo acknowledged his presence and asked the whistleblower to come up at the altar. Even Pabillo took the time to send a message to his parishoners regarding the recent controversial issues that have been hounding the country. "Kaya hindi po kayo pinagbabawalan kung paano niyo ipahayag ang inyong concern kung kayo'y saasma sa rally, sumama kayo sa rally," the bishop said. Phone snatching As people began exiting the church, Lozada's legal counsel Reynaldo Princesa and three other journalists all lost their cellphones to snatchers. Princesa expressed his worries about the snatching incident, saying that information vital to his handling of Lozada's case is stored in the phone. "Kung maaari ibalik na lang sa akini ang cellphone. Wala na po akong ttaanunigin. kasi mayroon pong mga importanteng impormayon donn na kailangan ko sa aking paghawak as kaso ni Jun Lozada," he said. - GMANews.TV
