German suspect denies killing Pinay in Boracay

MANILA, Philippines - A 44-year-old German national denied Saturday any role in the brutal killing of a Filipino masseur in Boracay Island in Western Visayas. Visayas-based Bombo Radyo reported Saturday afternoon that Christian Westerer denied before Boracay police allegations that he killed Mylene dela Rosa. Westerer said the scratches on his face and his bloodied clothing came from an accident involving his big bike. The police, however, noted the absence of damage in his motorcycle. On the other hand, Boracay police maintained they have strong evidence pointing to Westerer as the killer of Dela Rosa. They said they have a witness who saw the suspect drinking with the victim at a bar the night before the incident. Dela Rosa's brutalized body was found floating off a beach resort at dawn Friday. Police are also looking into the possibility that Westerer was high on drugs when he killed Dela Rosa, after witnesses at the bar said he reeked of marijuana. For his part, Dela Rosa's husband Rammel said he is hoping for swift justice, but admitted being worried on how to raise his five children. - GMANews.TV
