Boracay fisherman surfaces, bolsters slay case vs German

MANILA, Philippines - A conscience-stricken fisherman broke his silence Thursday, implicating a German national in the killing of a Filipino masseuse in Boracay earlier this month. Radio reports said that Carlito Bernardo told police he saw Christian Adolf Winterrer drag the body of Myleen de la Rosa at the front beach in Yapak village. Bernardo said the incident took place at about 2:45 a.m. of March 7. He said Winterrer then left the scene aboard his motorcycle. While police consider the development a breakthrough, Libacao Mayor Charito Navarosa condemned the murder and promised legal assistance for De la Rosa's family. According to Bernardo, he hurriedly left for home because he was scared he might be blamed for De la Rosa's murder. But eventually his conscience got the better of him, he said. Winterrer had been charged with rape and homicide. - GMANews.TV
