Fire razes 15 homes in Caloocan


MANILA, Philippines - At least 15 houses were razed after a fire of still undetermined origin broke out in a residential compound in Caloocan City past noon Tuesday. Radio reports said that the blaze gutted a cluster of houses made of light materials in Barangay 132 in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City. Fire marshals from the Caloocan City Fire Bureau said the fire has reached third alarm, as firefighters continue to work to put the fire out. Initial investigation showed that the fire started at the residence of one Julia Belarmino, located along Zapote Road in Caloocan City. Fire officials dispelled sketchy reports of a person trapped in the fire, saying there were no reported casualty in the incident. The amount of the fire's damage to property is still being determined. Traffic was snarled in the area as a number of firetrucks blocked the surrounding streets. - GMANews.TV
