DOJ task force to inspect Lozada ‘kidnap’ site at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines - A task force of the Justice Department handling kidnapping charges lodged by ZTE witness Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr will conduct an ocular inspection of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Radio dzBB's Teresa Tavares reported that the team headed by prosecutor Emilie Fe delos Santos scheduled the ocular inspection at the NAIA for May 14. De los Santos said they have informed the parties involved in the case about the inspection. The inspection will focus on the area where Lozada said he was abducted shortly after arriving from Hong Kong on February 5. The team will check the location of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras inside the airport. Lozada, a key witness in the ZTE mess, lodged a kidnapping complaint before the DOJ against several government officials led by Environment Secretary Jose Atienza Jr, PNP chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr and Manila International Airport Authority deputy for security Angel Atutubo. Atienza, Razon and Atutubo have all denied the allegation. For his part, Lozada has refused to attend the hearing at the DOJ, claiming that he cannot get a fair trial from the department. - GMANews.TV
