Doc misplaces forceps inside mom’s genitals

MANILA, Philippines - A doctor could face charges of medical malpractice for leaving behind a pair of forceps inside the vaginal canal of a patient who had given birth at a district hospital in South Cotabato province. Radio dzBB reported Wednesday that the victim, Jennifer Aguerto, 34, a resident in Poblacion village in Surallah town, felt pain in her genitals after giving birth at the district hospital in Norala town. When Aguerto went to the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital for checkup, doctors were shocked to find the forceps in her reproductive tract. The victim's mother Lina Balayon-Cortez angrily returned the forceps to the Norala District Hospital after it was recovered. - GMANews.TV
