Fire hits rubber factory in Valenzuela City

(Updated 1:40 p.m.) MANILA, Philippines - Fire of still undetermined origin razed a rubber factory in Valenzuela City shortly after noon Thursday. Radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu cited sketchy initial reports showing the fire started at 12:25 p.m. at the factory in Karuhatan village in Valenzuela City. The fire had reached the fifth alarm as of 1 p.m. Firefighters had a hard time getting into the compound because of the narrow streets, the report said. A report from QTV-11's Balitanghali newscast said the fire was near the SM shopping mall in the area. - GMANews.TV
