Rudy Fernandez confined due to back pains - report

MANILA, Philippines - Veteran actor Rudy Fernandez is now confined at an undisclosed hospital in San Juan City after complaining of lower back pains while undergoing therapy, radio dzBB reported Tuesday. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen quoted a hospital's medical staff as saying there is nothing to worry with Fernandez's health condition as he is just resting to regain strength. The report said Fernandez was initially brought to the Capitol Medical Center after experiencing pain in his back and was later transferred to a hospital in San Juan. The report said the actor is staying in a hospital suite with his wife, Lorna Tolentino. On May 10, Fernandez's friends offered a healing Mass held at the Christ the King Church in Quezon City for the actor's speedy recovery. Fernandez is suffering from periampullary cancer.
