Cops tag 2 ‘uniformed men’ in RCBC rob-massacre

MANILA, Philippines - At least two law enforcers have been linked to last week's bloody robbery-massacre at the Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) branch in Cabuyao, Laguna. Radio dzBB reported Friday noon that police at the Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon (Calabarzon) refused to name the two, except saying that they were from the "uniformed" service. The investigators refused to say if the "uniformed" service referred to the Philippine National Police or the Armed Forces of the Philippines. At least 10 people were killed after unidentified armed men robbed the RCBC branch in Cabuyao. Police also said two other suspects in the crime belonged to a criminal syndicate, but also refused to give further details as follow-up operations are still ongoing. They would not say at this time if the suspects had links to four members of a criminal gang killed in a series of encounters in Tanauan City, Batangas from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning. On the other hand, police gave more indications of an inside job behind the incident, saying they are conducting a background check on all employees of the RCBC Cabuyao branch. They said they are also found at least one of the two security guards who surrendered last weekend to be "lying." They did not elaborate. Police are also securing at least six witnesses in the crime. Meanwhile, police said the task force created to solve the RCBC incident is now combing the Calabarzon district for the suspects. - GMANews.TV
