Magnitude 6.3 quake shakes Batanes Islands

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 6.3 quake rocked Basco, Batanes Sunday morning, but no casualty or damage was initially reported. Quoting a preliminary bulletin from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), radio DzBB's Tuesday Niu said the earthquake occurred at 9:57 am and had a depth of 42 kilometers. The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at intensity V in Basco, Batanes; 2 in Aparri, Cagayan; and 2 in Patukin, Ilocos Norte. - GMANews.TV
