QC court sets Ivler's arraignment on February 9

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court has scheduled the arraignment of slay suspect Jason Aguilar Ivler on February 9. In a report aired over Radio dzBB on Tuesday, Alan Gatus said Ivler will be arraigned at the Quezon City RTC Branch 76 at the sala of Judge Alexander Balut. The report quoted Balut as saying that the date would give Ivler ample time to recuperate from the gunshot wounds he incurred during a firefight with the government's arresting team. Ivler, 28, was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents last week for the November 18 killing of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr., son of Presidential Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr., allegedly over a traffic altercation. He remains confined at the Quirino Memorial Medical center and is expected to stay longer after undergoing another operation last Monday. Meanwhile, Ivler’s mother Marlene Aguilar denied allegations that she and her son were using gadgets such as earphones and cellphones during the NBI raid at her house in Blue Ridge subdivision, Quezon City. "What? You saw me on TV. I was half-naked. Ang dami nila, ibig sabihin, hindi nila nakita 'yun kung merong nakasabit sa katawan ko? (They were so many. Do they mean to say, they didn’t notice if something was dangling from my body?)" Aguilar said. – Aie Balagtas See/JV, GMANews.TV
