DepEd orders probe of deadly Lanao school collapse

The Department of Education has ordered an investigation into the collapse of a school building that killed at least two pupils in Lanao del Norte last Wednesday. Radio dzXL reported Friday that the DepEd initially learned the wooden school building of Sapad Central School was built in the 1960s. The report quoted Lanao del Norte Schools Division Superintendent Luisa Mutia as saying that they had planned to turn the building into a museum.

For its part, the town local government had extended assistance to the relatives of the victims. At least two pupils died in the accident while several others were injured.
