Is Aquino planning to have kids?

The country's first bachelor president seemed hopeful that he will get married and have kids in the future. As he began his speech during the awarding ceremony in Malacañang for The Outstanding Women in the Nation's Service (TOWNS), Aquino teased a congressman for being good at taking care of kids while his wife was receiving an award. Aquino's poked fun at Marikina City Rep. Miro Quimbo, who looked after their kids while his wife Stella Luz Alabastro-Quimbo accepted a TOWNS award for her research on health insurance. Aquino said Quimbo can get back at him later on when he has his own kids. "Siguro mga limang taon na lang ganyan na ho kaming lahat at makakabawi na kayo sa aming lahat siguro (Perhaps in five years all of us will be like that and you can get back at us)," the 50-year-old president added in jest, eliciting laughter from the audience. The relationship of Aquino, the country's first bachelor president, with Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad reportedly ended more than a month ago. Asked in an ambush interview after the ceremony whether he was serious in wanting to have kids after five years, Aquino said, "Sabi ko nga sa inyo dati, hope springs eternal." (As I told you before, hope springs eternal.) Aquino's term is set to end in June 2016. Since his reported break-up with Soledad, he has been linked to a number of women, including his stylist, Preview fashion editor Liz Uy. Both Aquino and Uy have refused to comment on rumors that they are dating. –VVP, GMANews.TV
