Suspect in Laguna freezer killings arrested

Police arrested on Wednesday night a suspect in last week's killing of two women whose bodies were found stuffed inside a freezer in Laguna province last week. Senior Superintendent Jimmy Rivera Sr., Isabela police chief, said they arrested Ben Fajardo Cruz alias Bayani Pagaduan Corpuz, in Brgy. Uno in San Mateo town, radio dzBB reported Thursday. The report quoted Rivera as saying that Cruz did not resist arrest when police caught him at 9:45 p.m. Corpus did not elaborate. A team from the Laguna police proceeded to Isabela province to pick up the suspect, the report said. Cruz was linked to the killing of Vilma Bandilao and Leticia Lupian, whose bodies were found inside a freezer in a warehouse in Miraflor Subdivision in Brgy. Del Remedios in San Pablo City, Laguna. Earlier reports said Lupian was the mother of the person renting the warehouse while Bandilao was her niece. — RSJ, GMA News
