Hackers strike again, hit DTI price watch page

Hackers hit another government website Sunday night, this time defacing a section of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) website. Visitors to the DTI's Price Watch site were greeted with the usual popup message of PrivateX, with the message "Pr1vX 4nDBl4ckr41n." Clicking on the "ok" button would lead to another popup box with the message, "Corruption, lack of education, and lack of opportunity." As in past instances, the visitors would be redirected to a third-party site. In this case, it was pribadox.0fees.net.

The hackers, PrivateX, claimed to support the AntiSec movement of hacktivist group Anonymous and Lulz Security, adding no data was taken off the attacked site's servers. An image of a hacker wearing a Guy Fawkes mask - a trademark of Anonymous - was posted on the redirected page. PrivateX in its previous hacks had pointed out "weaknesses" in the site's security. Among its last high-profile victims was the Office of the Vice President website, which was hacked Sept. 18, prompting its administrators to beef up security. - KBK, GMA News
