Report: Explosion rocks Zambo Sur school

An explosion rocked an elementary school in Margosatubig town in Zamboanga del Sur Friday night, startling residents in the area. No one was initially reported injured in the explosion, which occurred past 7 p.m., according to a report on Radyo Mo Nationwide (RMN) Saturday. The explosion occurred near a Grade III classroom of the school, the report said. Provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Jose Bayani Gucela said they are on alert due to a recent encounter in neighboring province Zamboanga Sibugay, where at least four soldiers and three cops were killed. Gucela also cited recent kidnapping incidents in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
